Yushan Forum

With the world beginning to see some encouraging light at the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year the Yushan Forum is entering its sixth edition, exploring the theme of "Revitalizing, Reorienting, and Reconnecting.” The 2022 edition of Yushan Forum will continue to pay attention to issues such as resilience and sustainable cooperation between Taiwan and partner countries, while also focusing more pragmatically on the post pandemic recovery and development practice of the NSP partner countries. Through advancing the cross-sectoral synergy (that is public-private-people partnerships, P-P-P-P). Taiwan’s NSP has witnessed fruitful accomplishments in the past six years, which have received encouraging recognition of partners and like-minded countries.

Conference Report

This year, as the world has finally begun to see a promising end to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Yushan Forum explored the prospects of Revitalizing, Reorienting, and Reconnecting. Within this theme, significant attention was given to pragmatic steps towards recovery, cross-sectoral synergy through the public-private-people partnership (PPPP) model and future expectations of like-minded countries in the region. This year’s Yushan Forum invited 35 international leaders, new-generation young leaders, business representatives, and civil society leaders from New Southbound countries and other nations to speak in the forum's various sessions.

The forum demonstrated the fruitful results and determination of Taiwan's New Southbound Policy in empowering regional partnerships and cooperation. Two sessions were held with the themes of "Reorienting Asian Economics Framework through Resilience Building” and "Reconnecting Asia with a New Ecosystem of Partnership through Societal Actions," followed by a regional roundtable dialogue as the finale. Following this year's Yushan Forum, a high-level Inaugural Taiwan-India Dialogue was jointly held by the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation and the Observer Research Foundation of India. This report features the highlights of all notable talks and sessions of the Yushan Forum and the Inaugural Taiwan-India Dialogue.
